DECIMATE 2.0 ANNOUNCES KOSM (Vancouver, BC)

April 5, 2019

KOSM is a progressive metal band from Vancouver BC. Combining influences from Mastodon, Tool and Gojira; their sound is dynamic and unquestionably lethal. Since their induction in 2016, they have been making their mark in Vancouver's metal scene as an absolute force to be reckoned with.

In March of 2018, they had the privilege to take the Wacken Metal Battle stage in Vancouver, BC and, though they didn't take the crown, they continued to show that they belonged among those who did.

Playing festivals the likes of Metalocalypstick and Metallion, KOSM is eager to expand their sound and performance outside of BC and is more than pumped to be playing their first out-of-province show at Decimate Festival this year!

On November 16th, 2018, KOSM unleashed their debut, full length album 'Cosmonaut' and has received applause from one end of the world to the other.

"Here is an album where progressive elements are subtly used to colour already solid, groovy song foundations, which could easily stand by themselves. "

- Daniel Robichaud of BeatRoute Magazine Alberta

"KOSM does a solid job of mixing technicality, mood and groove.  They have all sorts of dual guitar sections, and very psychedelic and moody parts on “Cosmonaut” as well.  They’re a well versed band with all kinds of moods and changes engaging your ears every split second."

- Technical Music Review

"Remember when Mastodon were special, circa Leviathan, Blood Mountain and Crack The Skye, before that vision was lost?(Interestingly, all those albums featured the work of the now inexplicably absent Paul Romano, something that Mastodon don’t seem to realise has hurt the presentation of their music.) Well, Kosm are like Mastodon in those days."

- Hellbound.ca

"KOSM delivers the goods while touching bases in the same ballpark as Tool, Mastodon and Periphery (they've previously covered Mastodon's 'Blood and Thunder') with an emphasis on plenty of space rock intermissions."

- Powerplay Magazine

Already looking to the future, KOSM is working on new material and will be releasing a new EP this summer!
